About

Live Oak Campground occupies a pleasantly wooded glen at 1,450 feet elevation, making it the lowest of Mount Diablo State Park's drive-in campgrounds. Located just one mile above the South Gate Entrance Station off South Gate Road, campers enjoy convenient access to Rock City's famous sandstone formations and the park's extensive trail network. The campground features 22 sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire pit or stove. Water and restroom facilities are available throughout the campground, and showers are provided at no additional cost. The maximum length for trailers and motorhomes is 20 feet, and there are no hookups, dump stations, or camp stores within the park. Reservations are available up to six months in advance through ReserveCalifornia. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at noon. Park gates close at sunset and reopen at 8:00 AM. Alcohol is prohibited throughout the park. Dogs are permitted in developed areas only, must be leashed during the day, and secured in a tent or vehicle at night.
