About
Garin Regional Park and the adjoining Dry Creek Pioneer Regional Parks preserve over 5,800 acres of open space from former 19th-century ranches. The combined parks feature more than 35 miles of trails through narrow valleys and rolling hills with sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay Area. The park offers one primitive group campsite, Arroyo Flats, designed for organized youth groups and large parties of 25 to 75 people. The site requires a quarter-mile hike from the parking area and includes five 10-foot tables, one double BBQ, a drinking fountain, one fire circle with benches, and two chemical toilets. Two vehicles can park at the campsite, with additional parking for up to 13 vehicles in the main lot. Beer and wine are permitted with an additional $25 permit. Beyond camping, Garin Regional Park provides excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and fishing at Jordan Pond, which has naturally reproducing populations of largemouth bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The park features the historic Garin Red Barn Visitor Center with ranching artifacts and antique farm machinery, as well as the beautifully restored two-acre Dry Creek Garden at Meyers Cottage. The park hosts an annual Garin Apple Festival celebrating the area's apple-growing heritage.
