About
Little Beaver Campground is a peaceful 8-site rustic campground located on Little Beaver Lake within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, 20 miles northeast of Munising. Accessible via a narrow, winding, hilly 3-mile road off Alger County Road H-58, this campground offers a secluded wilderness experience within the Beaver Basin Wilderness area. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill grate, and tent pad, with one site designed for wheelchair accessibility. The campground provides excellent opportunities for hiking, fishing, and paddling. A 1-mile Little Beaver Nature Trail loop offers interpretive experiences, while a 1.5-mile trail leads to Lake Superior beaches and cliffs, connecting with the North Country Trail for extended hiking adventures. A small boat ramp allows access to Little Beaver Lake, though only electric motors are permitted due to wilderness regulations. The campground features seasonal vault toilets and well water, but no electric, water, or sewer hookups at individual sites. Due to the challenging access road and compact site dimensions, single vehicles over 36 feet and vehicle/trailer combinations exceeding 42 feet are prohibited.
