About
Little Beaver Lake Campground offers a peaceful retreat on the shores of Little Beaver Lake, surrounded by the 12,000-acre Beaver Basin Wilderness within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The 8 rustic campsites provide basic amenities including picnic tables, fire rings with grill grates, tent pads, vault toilets, and seasonal well water. One site is wheelchair accessible. The campground is ideal for tent campers and smaller RVs seeking solitude and wilderness immersion. Paddling and fishing are popular activities on the lake, with a small boat ramp available for launching. Only electric motors are permitted on Little Beaver Lake and nearby Beaver Lake to preserve the wilderness character. The 1-mile Little Beaver Nature Trail loops through the forest, while a 1.5-mile trail connects to Lake Superior and the North Country Scenic Trail for extended hiking opportunities. The access road is narrow, twisting, and hilly, making this campground unsuitable for large vehicles. Single units over 36 feet and vehicle/trailer combinations over 42 feet are prohibited. Cell service is unavailable, and the area is bear country, so proper food storage in hard-sided vehicles is required. Pets are not permitted at this campground.
