About
Deer Park Campground is located in the Bighorn National Forest at 8,900 feet elevation, offering convenient access to numerous trails in the Cloud Peak Wilderness. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather dependent, and is gated during the off-season. All campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation option. The facility offers vault toilets and potable drinking water from a hand pump. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, and can accommodate up to 8 people. The campground charges $20 per night for single sites, with Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes providing a 50% discount. A 14-day stay limit is enforced. Pets are allowed but must be kept on leash. Pack animals are not permitted at this campground. The location is accessed from Tensleep, Wyoming by taking Highway 16 for approximately 20 miles, then traveling 6 miles north on Forest System Road 27. The area receives heavy use during the season and offers excellent opportunities for mountain biking, OHV trail riding, stream fishing, and day hiking into the Cloud Peak Wilderness.
