About

Larry Creek Group Camp is situated in western Montana's Bitterroot National Forest within the Bass Creek Recreation Area. The campground accommodates up to 75 people and is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring paved paths to vault toilets, a picnic shelter, and fire rings. Located at a relatively low elevation between Missoula and Hamilton, the site is forested with pine, spruce, and fir trees. The campground provides excellent access to outdoor recreation opportunities. The 9-mile Bass Creek Trail, located just south of the campground, leads to scenic overlooks and fishing holes. Bass Lake, Bass Creek, and numerous mountain streams make this area popular for fishing. The campground itself includes an interpretive trail, fitness trail, and volleyball court. A variety of non-motorized trails are nearby, including a half-mile nature trail highlighting the area's features. Wildlife is abundant in the area, with frequent sightings of mule and white-tailed deer, elk, moose, and various bird species. The Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge is located about 20 miles away along the Bitterroot River. Services are available in the nearby city of Stevensville. The campground typically operates seasonally with reservations available through Recreation.gov.
