About
Lake Francis State Park is situated on a 2,000-acre lake near the Connecticut Lakes in New Hampshire's Great North Woods region, offering a remote base for outdoor recreation. The campground features 47 sites ranging from tent-only and platform sites to sites with water and electric hookups. Sites 13-21 offer hookups, with 7 of these being waterfront locations. Nine sites (1, 2, 3, 4, 20, 21, 44, 45, and 46) are accessible via ATV trails, making this a popular destination for ATV riders. The park is a favored base for hunters and anglers, with the lake supporting brook trout, landlocked salmon, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, and chain pickerel. A boat launch provides easy water access, and canoeists can explore the scenic upper Connecticut River. Ice fishing is popular during winter months. The park also features hiking trails, a playground, picnic areas, and a small waterfront pavilion. Flush toilets, vault toilets, showers, a dump station, and drinking water are available. Maximum RV length varies by site, with some accommodating up to 40 feet. Limited cell service is available, though coverage varies by provider.
