About

Lake Anna State Park Hunts refers to the hunting opportunities at Lake Anna State Park rather than a standalone campground. The park hosts the Wheelin' Sportsmen Hunt, a special muzzleloader hunt for people with mobility-impairment disabilities, typically held in early November. This program is coordinated through Virginia State Parks and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Hunters participating in managed hunts at Lake Anna State Park may use the park's main campground during the open season. The Lake Anna Campground offers 46 sites divided between standard non-hookup sites and sites with 20/30/50-amp electric and water hookups. Sites accommodate tents through RVs up to 60 feet and include steel fire rings, picnic tables, and lantern holders. Centrally located bathhouses provide hot showers, and the south loop bathhouse has coin-operated laundry. The park encompasses over 3,000 acres on the shores of Lake Anna in Spotsylvania County, approximately 25 miles southwest of Fredericksburg. Beyond camping, facilities include six camping cabins, four yurts, two six-bedroom lodges, and ten two-bedroom cabins available for hunters seeking more comfortable accommodations.
