Open — Cabins and lodges are available for rental year-round. Check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 10 a.m. Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day, cabins and lodges require a six-night minimum stay. Linens are not provided; guests must bring their own.
About
Lake Anna State Park provides comfortable year-round lodging options on the shores of Virginia's 13,000-acre Lake Anna. The park features two spacious 6-bedroom lodges, Pigeon Lodge and Finch Lodge, each accommodating up to 16 guests. Both lodges include a full kitchen with dishwasher, three bathrooms, two bedrooms with queen beds, two with twin beds, two with bunk beds, washer and dryer, gas logs, and are universally accessible. Lodges have front and back decks with rocking chairs, picnic tables, charcoal grills, and campfire rings. Ten two-bedroom cabins are available, with seven offering lake views. Each cabin sleeps up to six guests and includes a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, and coffeemaker, one bathroom with shower-bath, heat pump for climate control, and fireplace. Cabins feature a queen bed in the master bedroom, two single beds in the second bedroom, and a queen pull-out sofa. Each has a wrap-around deck with rocking chairs, picnic table, and charcoal pedestal grill. Cabin guests have access to boat docks with one slip per cabin. The park offers extensive recreation with over 15 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. A guarded swimming beach operates from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day with a bathhouse and snack bar. The public boat launch is free for overnight guests. A 2-acre fishing pond designed for children and disabled visitors is located near the visitor center. Lake Anna is known for largemouth bass, crappie, and bream. The park's visitor center features exhibits on gold mining history and the Goodwin Gold Mine, with guided tours available.
Directions
From I-95, take Exit 118 at Thornburg and travel west about 4 miles on Route 606. At Snell, continue through the traffic light on Route 208 west for 2 miles. At the next stoplight, turn left onto Courthouse Road (Route 208 west). Continue on Route 208 through the stoplight at Spotsylvania High School. In 8 miles, turn right onto Route 601 Lawyers Road and drive 3 miles. The state park sign will be on your left.
