About

K'esugi Ken Campground opened in 2017 as Denali State Park's premier camping facility, located at Mile 135.4 of the George Parks Highway. The campground features 32 RV sites with electric hookups (20, 30, or 50 amp service) and 10 walk-in tent sites, plus a group camping area and public-use cabins. A 34-mile power extension brought electricity to the RV sites, making this one of the few Alaska state park campgrounds with hookups. Amenities include paved roads, ADA-accessible vault toilets, hand pump water wells in each loop, fire rings and picnic tables at every site, food storage lockers, and bear-resistant trash receptacles. The campground has an interpretive pavilion and ranger station on site. Several campsites offer views of Denali and the Alaska Range. The Curry Ridge Trail departs from the campground and climbs 1,100 feet to the lower bench of Curry Ridge, providing access to rolling tundra and the Lake 1787 area. Views of the Alaska Range are spectacular from many points along the trail. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica; after camp host coverage ends in early September, the campground operates first-come, first-served until seasonal closure.
