Igloo Creek

Closed

The campground operates seasonally from approximately May 20 through mid-September. Five sites are reservable in advance; two are first-come, first-served at Riley Creek Mercantile or Denali Bus Depot. Access requires a camper bus ticket.

About

Igloo Creek Campground sits at mile 35 on Denali Park Road, deep within the park's scenic interior. With only 7 sites, it shares the distinction of being Denali's smallest campground alongside Sanctuary River. The campground is tent-only and accessible exclusively by camper bus, with the bus stop less than 50 yards from the campsites. Amenities are minimal but functional: two vault toilets near the entrance, food storage lockers to protect against wildlife, and a covered eating shelter. There is no potable water on site; campers must gather water from the nearby creek and treat it with a filter or purification tablets. Open fires are strictly prohibited, so bring a camp stove for cooking. Five sites can be reserved in advance, while two are held for first-come, first-served booking at the Riley Creek Mercantile or Denali Bus Depot. Each site accommodates up to three tents and eight people. The campground typically operates from late May through mid-September.
