About
Jordan Lake Cabin sits on the southwest shore of Jordan Lake on Revillagigedo Island, surrounded by lush Sitka spruce and western hemlock rainforest. The front deck offers views of the lake and surrounding mountain peaks. Wildlife common to the area includes Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear, beaver, marten, otter, mink, wolf, and trumpeter swans. The 12x12-foot Pan-Abode log cabin was constructed in 1965 and sleeps six people with two single bunks and two double bunks. Amenities include a wood stove, cooking counter, table with benches, shelves, cupboard space, splitting maul, ax, wedges, broom, and outhouse. A 14-foot aluminum skiff with oars is provided for use on the lake, though guests must supply their own life jackets and motor. The Naha River provides excellent fishing for trout, Dolly Varden, steelhead, and salmon. The scenic 6-mile Naha River National Recreation Trail winds downstream through old-growth rainforest, connecting Heckman Lake to Naha Bay.
Directions
Located approximately 15 miles from Ketchikan in the Naha National Recreation Area. Access by boating to Naha Bay and hiking 4 miles on the Naha River Trail, or by floatplane to Heckman Lake and hiking 2 miles. Jordan Lake is too small for most floatplanes, though some pilots will land there.
