About
Named for BLM Idaho State Director Joseph T. Fallini (1959-1970), this campground occupies a scenic location on Mackay Reservoir with striking views of the Lost River Range and Mt. McCaleb. The site underwent major reconstruction in 2004/05 to accommodate modern RVs and improve universal accessibility. The Grouse Loop contains 14 single RV sites with electric and water hookups, plus 4 tent-only sites with central water access. The Chukar Loop adds 4 double RV sites and 4 single RV sites, all with hookups. Eight RV sites and all tent sites have shade shelters. Five sets of vault toilets serve the campground, along with an RV dump station. A group shelter and four day-use shelters are available for picnicking. Mackay Reservoir supports boating, jet skiing, water skiing, sailing, and fishing. A county-operated boat ramp and docks provide reservoir access. An interpretive trail offers wildlife viewing and nature walks. Ice fishing is popular during late winter when the reservoir freezes.
Directions
From Mackay, Idaho, travel north on Highway 93 for approximately 6 miles. The campground is on the west side of the highway.
