About

Island Acres is one of several sections of James M. Robb Colorado River State Park, situated along the scenic Colorado River corridor in Mesa County, Colorado. The campground offers 80 sites with varying levels of amenities: 40 full-hookup sites (including 4 with 50 amp service), 34 electric-only sites with 30 amp connections, and 6 basic sites without electricity. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and stand-up grill. The park provides excellent river recreation access with two stocked fishing lakes and a swim beach open from May 1 through Labor Day. A 0.75-mile self-guided trail follows the course of the Colorado River. Vault restrooms are available year-round, while showers and laundry facilities operate during summer months only. Island Acres operates year-round but with reduced services in winter. From November through March, full hookup sites are closed and water access is very limited; only electric and basic tent sites remain available. First-time visitors should be aware the campground sits adjacent to Interstate 70 and active railroad tracks. All Colorado state park waters in this area are designated as infested with zebra mussels, so watercraft and gear must follow aquatic nuisance species cleaning procedures.
