About
Green Mountain Campground offers a quiet mountain escape at 7,500 feet elevation in Pike National Forest, southwest of Denver in Jefferson County. South Fork Buffalo Creek flows through the campground, providing a scenic backdrop and creek access. The surrounding area features numerous nonmotorized multi-use trails popular with hikers and mountain bikers. This is a tent-only campground operating on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Each site accommodates up to 8 people with a maximum of 2 tents and 2 vehicles. Sites include a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground offers full services from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. An extended season runs in spring and fall when amenities like trash service and campground hosts may not be available. Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed at all times. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
