About

Granville State Forest campground sits within a 2,426-acre forest along Massachusetts' southern border with Connecticut. The 22 campsites are spread through a mature pine forest, offering a sense of tranquil remoteness while remaining accessible. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and bear-resistant food storage locker, essential since black bears frequent the area. The campground's comfort station features flush toilets, hot showers, and a dishwashing station. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, though the unpaved West Hartland Road access and wooded setting make this better suited for smaller rigs. There are no hookups or dump station. Sites 7 and 21 have no motor vehicle parking due to proximity to a well. The Hubbard River runs through the property, providing swimming and fishing opportunities. Miles of trails wind through the forest for hiking and mountain biking, and the forest connects to Connecticut's 9,152-acre Tunxis State Forest for extended exploration. The closest general store is 15 miles away, so campers should arrive fully provisioned.
