About
Granville State Forest is a 2,426-acre Massachusetts state forest located in the southern Berkshire Hills along the border with Connecticut. The campground offers 22 intimate campsites deep in the woods, nestled among tall pines near the Hubbard River. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, food storage locker, and fire ring. The campground features an accessible comfort station with flush toilets, hot showers, and a dishwashing station. The forest borders Connecticut's 9,152-acre Tunxis State Forest, creating an extensive wilderness area for exploration. Hiking opportunities include the Hubbard River Trail and the Halfway Brook Trail, offering scenic routes along waterways through the wooded landscape. The campground operates seasonally and is quite remote, with the closest general store located 15 miles away. While most sites can be reserved through ReserveAmerica up to six months in advance, two campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground does not have electric hookups or a dump station. Generator use is permitted except during quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Pets are allowed with proof of current vaccinations. Hunting is permitted seasonally in the forest, so visitors should wear blaze orange during hunting season for safety.
