Open for day-use reservations. Road access available from late April through November 1. The facility operates 8 AM to sunset daily. This is a day-use picnic shelter only; no overnight camping is permitted.
About
Dennis Hill Picnic Shelter is a day-use pavilion located at the summit of Dennis Hill State Park, offering panoramic views of the Litchfield Hills from 1,627 feet elevation. The 90x50-foot open-air structure has historic significance, having served as a summer residence and later a World War II lookout post. The pavilion can accommodate up to 150 people and features 4 picnic tables and a large working fireplace. Restrooms and drinking water are available on-site. Parking is limited to approximately 40 vehicles. Amplified music, bounce houses, and other play equipment are prohibited. This is a day-use rental facility only. Overnight camping is not available at Dennis Hill State Park. Road access to the pavilion is available from late April through early November; the park operates as a walk-in facility during the off-season.
