About

Located 34 miles southeast of Greenville in Beaufort County, Goose Creek State Park protects a scenic stretch of the Pamlico River estuary. The campground features a modern RV loop with 22 full-hookup sites and a nearby bathhouse, plus 14 well-spaced primitive tent sites nestled between Goose and Flatty creeks with composting toilets and water spigots. Six camper cabins with heating/AC are also available. The park encompasses diverse coastal plain habitats including cypress swamps, brackish marshes, and hardwood uplands. A network of trails and boardwalks provides access to wildlife viewing, with spotted turtles, river otters, and abundant bird species. Paddlers can explore the creeks and river from the park's boat ramp. Campers enjoy 24-hour access to the campgrounds, with the visitor center open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Firewood is available for purchase at the visitor center for $11 per bundle. Senior citizens (62+) and veterans/active military receive a $6 per night discount on most reservations.
