About
Golden Lake Campground sits on the Iron River Ranger District of Ottawa National Forest, offering campers a quiet northwoods setting on the shores of Golden Lake. The campground's 22 sites are arranged in a single loop with natural vegetation providing privacy between sites. Each site includes a wood picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and parking spur, accommodating tents, trailers, and motorhomes.
The campground provides two vault toilets, including one accessible facility near site #13 and a double vault toilet near the loop's end. A hand pump for drinking water is located near the lakeshore north of the boat landing, though potable water is not currently available. Adjacent to the campground, visitors will find a concrete boat ramp with no launch fee, a small picnic area, and a paved parking lot.
Golden Lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing, bird watching, and wildlife viewing. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Each site allows up to 8 people and 2 motorized vehicles, with a maximum of one RV or camper trailer plus two tents, or three tents per site.
