About

Located along the scenic White Pine Scenic Byway (Idaho Highway 6), Giant White Pine Campground offers a peaceful retreat in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The campground takes its name from an enormous 600-year-old white pine tree that once towered over the area. Though the tree was eventually cut down due to disease, it still resides within the campground as a reminder of the area's natural heritage. The campground features 14 developed campsites nestled in a lush forested setting, all available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. Amenities include vault toilets and drinking water available from a hand pump. The campground can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet in length. Campers should note that garbage services are not provided, so all trash must be packed out. Giant White Pine Campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area's hiking trails. The National Recreation Trail 224A and East Fork Meadows Creek Trail are both easily accessible from the campground. The campground operates seasonally and is located just 7.7 miles north of the small town of Harvard, making it a convenient yet secluded destination for those seeking to experience Idaho's beautiful backcountry.
