About

Dumbarton Quarry Campground on the Bay is the East Bay Regional Park District's first full-service campground, situated on 60 acres at the foot of the Dumbarton Bridge in Fremont. Opening in 2021 after four decades of planning, the campground was made possible through a partnership with the Oliver DeSilva Company, who donated $15 million to convert the former rock quarry into a public park without taxpayer funding. The campground includes 60 paved sites with full hookups for water, sewage, and 50-amp electricity, plus 3 unpaved water-only sites for tent camping. Modern amenities include restrooms with hot showers, a camp store, playground, picnic areas, and direct trail access to Coyote Hills Regional Park. Sites accommodate RVs from 35 to 65 feet in length. The facility is open year-round with reservations available up to 12 weeks in advance. Located immediately north of the Dumbarton Bridge toll plaza on Highway 84, the campground provides an accessible urban camping experience with views of the San Francisco Bay. Registered campers receive free parking at adjacent Coyote Hills Regional Park during their stay. The campground enforces a 15-day maximum consecutive stay with quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM.
