Fourmile Campground is located 9 miles west of Fairplay, Colorado, in the Pike National Forest at an elevation of 10,760 feet. The campground offers 14 first-come, first-served campsites nestled among trees that provide natural shade and privacy between sites. All surfaces are compacted gravel, making it accessible for both tent and RV camping, though the maximum trailer length is 22 feet.
The campground operates from mid-May through mid-October, weather dependent, with all services available during peak season. Early and late season visitors should note that some services may be limited. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with potable water available from a hand pump and vault toilets on-site. Fees are $24 per night for overnight camping, which includes up to two vehicles or one RV per site.
The area is bear country, and a bear closure order is in place requiring all food and attractants to be stored in a bear-resistant manner. The campground is subject to standard Forest Service regulations including a 14-night consecutive stay limit, quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and leashed pets at all times. OHV riding is not permitted on County Road 18 per Park County regulations.
Directions
From Fairplay, Colorado, travel U.S. Highway 285 south for 1 mile and turn right onto County Road 18. Follow County Road 18 for approximately 7 miles, and the campground will be on your left.
