About

Fort Clinch State Park Campground sits at the northeastern tip of Amelia Island, combining coastal camping with access to one of the best-preserved 19th-century forts in the country. The park's two campgrounds offer distinctly different experiences: the Amelia River Campground on the north end provides 42 sites shaded by ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss, with views of the St. Marys River and Cumberland Island beyond. The Atlantic Beach Campground places 27 sites among snow-white dunes just steps from the Atlantic Ocean. Every site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and access to potable water within 100 feet. Electric hookups (30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer connections are available for RV sites. Both campgrounds feature modern heated bathrooms with hot showers, dump stations, and laundry machines. The Amelia River restroom building is air-conditioned during warmer months. Several ADA-accessible sites are available in each campground. Beyond the campground, the park offers 6 miles of trails through maritime hammock and coastal scrub, miles of undeveloped beach, excellent fishing from the jetties, and daily programs at the historic fort where costumed interpreters recreate garrison life.
