About
Fort Clinch State Park Campground delivers an exceptional camping experience at Florida's most northeasterly tip, combining coastal beauty with historic significance. The park offers 69 campsites divided between two distinct campgrounds, each providing a unique atmosphere within this 1,400-acre preserve. The Amelia River Campground, located at the north end of the park along the St. Marys River, features 42 sites beneath a canopy of Spanish moss-laden live oak trees, offering an authentic old Florida ambiance with breathtaking river views. The Atlantic Beach Campground provides 27 sites, including 21 RV sites and 6 tent-only sites positioned just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by pristine white sand dunes typical of Florida's beach environment. Both campgrounds feature modern, air-conditioned and heated bathrooms with hot showers, laundry facilities, and dump stations. Each campsite is equipped with a fire ring, picnic table, potable water access, and electrical hookups offering either 30 or 50 amp service. The campgrounds welcome well-behaved pets and offer ADA-accessible sites. Beyond camping, visitors enjoy access to a well-preserved Civil War fort, 6 miles of multi-use trails through maritime hammock, pristine beaches perfect for swimming, surfing, shelling, and shark tooth hunting, plus exceptional birding opportunities along the Great Florida Birding Trail. The park also features a primitive group camping area that accommodates up to 75 campers in a wilderness setting adjacent to Egans Creek Marsh.
