Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Citrus, Levy and Marion Counties. .Due to recent heavy rainfall water levels remain elevated along the Horse Creek near Arcadia. The Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon has been steadily rising since July, and on September 15 reached flood stage. The cause of the high water along the Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon is due to excessive hydrilla growth (from the river bottom to the water surface) along a 4.5 mile stretch of river between US 41 and Lake Rousseau. The hydrilla is acting like a dam and holding water back, causing water levels to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Withlacoochee at US 41 Dunnellon. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 28.2 feet, Docks and boat ramps flood along the river in Citrus and Marion counties. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 28.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 28.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:45 PM EDT Sunday was 28.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady at flood stage. - Flood stage is 28.2 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 28.2 feet on 10/02/1979. - https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Fore Lake Campground sits on the western edge of Ocala National Forest, with 31 sites tucked in the shade of oaks and pines along the shores of Fore Lake. The campground offers a mix of electric sites (6 sites with 30 amp hookups) and nonelectric sites, all equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, lantern poles, and food storage. A bathhouse provides hot showers and flush toilets, and drinking water is available from faucets throughout the campground. The adjacent Fore Lake Recreation Area features a sandy beach for swimming and picnicking, a fishing pier, and a canoe launch. Only non-motorized watercraft are permitted on the lake. The marshy shoreline and scrub ecosystem make this an excellent birding destination. A free dump station is available for registered campers. Gate hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with check-in at 3 p.m. and checkout at 11 a.m. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days within a 30-day period. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov.
