Open for the 2026 season. The campground operates April 1 through October 31. Currently in peak season with full amenities including showers and water service available. Closed November 1 through March 31. All sites require reservations through ReserveAmerica.

About
Fairport State Recreation Area is a riverside campground situated on the banks of the Mississippi River in Muscatine County, Iowa. The 43-site campground features electric hookups with 20, 30, and 50 amp service, and approximately 40 sites also have water hookups. All sites are back-in configurations accommodating equipment lengths from 26 to 43 feet, with a maximum occupancy of 6 people per site. The facility includes modern restrooms with flush toilets and showers, a dump station, and two boat launch ramps with courtesy docks. Campsites offer scenic river views and access to excellent fishing opportunities. A playground is available for families. As with other Iowa state parks, sites include picnic tables and fire rings. The campground operates seasonally from April 1 through October 31, with peak season rates from May 1 through October 15. Water systems and shower buildings typically become operational by May 1 and begin closing down in mid-October depending on weather conditions. All 43 sites are reservable through the ReserveAmerica system up to 3 months in advance.
