About

Emerald Lake State Park Campground occupies a scenic wooded hillside above the crystal-clear waters of Emerald Lake in southern Vermont's Green Mountains. Located conveniently between Manchester and Rutland along Route 7, the park provides an excellent base for exploring the region while enjoying quality camping facilities. The campground offers 103 sites spread across several loops, including 43 tent/RV sites, 22 tent-only sites, and 37 rustic lean-tos. Each site features a fire ring and picnic table. Modern amenities include flush toilets, token-operated hot showers, potable water spigots, and an RV dump station. A concession stand sells firewood, ice, and snacks. The 20-acre lake is the centerpiece of recreation here, with a sandy swimming beach, boat rentals including canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, and stand-up paddleboards. Miles of hiking trails wind through working forests, past wetlands, and along cliff faces offering panoramic views. Additional amenities include a playground, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and a nature center.
