About
Pine Springs Campground is a quiet, secluded campground located in the Mt. Pinos Ranger District of Los Padres National Forest at 5,800 feet elevation. The campground features 12 campsites arranged in a loop configuration, each shaded by pinyon pines and offering generous spacing for privacy. Every site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grill, and pets are allowed on leash. Visitors should plan to be completely self-sustainable, as there is no potable water available on site. A vault toilet is provided for camper convenience. The campground serves as a gateway to wilderness exploration, with the Alder Creek Trail providing access to the Sespe Wilderness. The setting combines the charm of high desert pinyon woodland with proximity to wilderness hiking opportunities. Access is via Grade Valley Road (FS 7N03), approximately three miles south of the Lockwood Valley/Grade Valley Road junction. The campground charges $5 per night for overnight camping and requires an Adventure Pass or equivalent Interagency Pass.
