About
Deer Valley Campground offers a remote camping experience in the Mendocino National Forest within the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument. The campground features 7 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and pedestal grill. Two vault toilets serve the campground, but this is a dry camp with no potable water available, so visitors must bring their own water supply. Trash service is not provided; pack out all garbage. The campground provides direct access to OHV trails, making it popular with off-highway vehicle enthusiasts. The setting is remote with limited or no cellular service. Sites are available first-come, first-served only at $6 per night; payment can be made via the Recreation.gov mobile app using the Scan and Pay feature with QR codes. Access to Deer Valley is challenging and requires preparation. The campground is located 12 miles north of Upper Lake on County Road 301 (Forest Road M-1), then 4 miles east on Forest Road 16N01. Roads are very narrow and driveable only with high-clearance 4WD vehicles. Trailers are not recommended. Alternate access is available via Potter Valley or Sam Alley.
