About
Crosswinds Campground is one of three major campgrounds within Jordan Lake State Recreation Area, a popular destination for water recreation in North Carolina's Piedmont region. The 14,000-acre reservoir draws paddlers, anglers, swimmers, and boaters, while the surrounding area is known for bald eagle sightings. The campground's location offers convenient access to the lake via a campers-only boat ramp and swim beach. The campground features 182 designated sites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs. Of these, 134 sites are equipped with electric and water hookups at the pedestal. Every site includes a picnic table, standing grill, and lantern holder. Campground facilities include bathhouses with hot showers and flush restrooms, plus a centrally-located dump station for RV waste disposal. Wood and charcoal fires are prohibited throughout the park due to watershed protection regulations, though gas and propane grills and stoves are permitted. Crosswinds operates year-round with 24-hour gate access for registered campers. Reservations are made through the NC State Parks reservation system. A privately-owned marina adjacent to the campground offers additional boating services and supplies.
