Raven Rock State Park's Moccasin Branch Campground is the park's newest camping facility, constructed in 2020. Located just outside the main park entrance off Moccasin Branch Road, the campground winds through a scenic forest of mixed pines and hardwoods. The facility includes 9 RV sites with electric hookups, 15 non-electric drive-to tent and trailer sites, and 6 rental cabins that sleep up to 6 people. All campsites accommodate up to 6 people and feature back-in parking. The campground includes a modern bathhouse with separate men's and women's restrooms and showers, plus an ADA-accessible family restroom and shower. Pets are allowed at RV and tent sites but not in cabins. The campground provides access to the park's extensive trail system, including hikes to Raven Rock overlook, rapids on the Cape Fear River, and the historic Northington Lock and Dam remains. The park also offers bridle trails and bike trails. Primitive canoe camping and family wilderness camp sites are available for backcountry experiences. Raven Rock State Park is located in Harnett County, approximately 40 miles southwest of Raleigh and 45 minutes from Fayetteville. All camping requires advance reservations through the North Carolina State Parks reservation system, with no walk-up camping permitted. The 14-night maximum stay rule applies within any 30-day period.

Directions

From US Highway 421, take Raven Rock Road. Turn right onto Moccasin Branch Road (dirt road). Turn left into Moccasin Branch Campground at 814 Moccasin Branch Road. Note: Large vehicles should go directly to the campground entrance and not drive into the main park day-use area.
