About

Corney Lake Recreation Area is located on the south shore of a beautiful 2,300-acre reservoir in the Kisatchie National Forest's Caney Ranger District. This campground has become a popular destination for fishing and waterfowl hunting enthusiasts. The camping area features modern amenities including paved roads, lantern posts at each site, fire rings, flush restrooms, and ample parking with trash receptacles. In addition to the camping facilities, visitors can enjoy day-use amenities including a covered group-use shelter, several single picnic tables, a park-like setting with maintained grass areas, and a fishing pier for lake access. The 2,300-acre lake offers excellent opportunities for both motorized and non-motorized boating as well as fishing. The south shore area is noted for having more modern fixtures compared to other areas around the lake. The recreation area operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no camping fees. Located in Webster and Claiborne Parishes, the campground provides a quieter, less-visited alternative to busier state parks in the region while still offering quality facilities and access to outdoor recreation.
