About

Beaver Dam Campground is situated at 160 feet elevation on the north shore of Upper Caney Lake within the Caney Lakes Recreation Complex of Kisatchie National Forest. The campground provides 29 individual campsites with most offering electric and water hookups. Each site accommodates up to eight campers and can handle RVs with slideouts. A group picnic area is also available for gatherings up to 200 guests. The lake supports excellent fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, and sand bass, while water skiing and swimming are popular warm-weather activities. The 5.7-mile Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail passes near the campground, offering varied terrain for hikers and mountain bikers. The trail is named for the sugar cane crop once cultivated in this area. The nearby 2-mile Lost Man Loop provides an additional hiking option. Amenities include flush toilets, potable drinking water, a sanitary dump station, and a camp host on site. The campground is located just minutes from Minden, which offers restaurants, shopping, and golfing.

Directions

From Minden, take Louisiana 159 north to Webster Parish Road 111. Turn left on WPR 111 and go 2 miles. Look for the sign posted to the recreation area entrance. The fee station is just inside the gate.
