Beaver Dam Campground is situated on the shores of Upper Caney Lake in the Caney Lakes Recreation Complex, part of the Kisatchie National Forest in Webster Parish, Louisiana. The campground sits at an elevation of 160 feet and offers a beautiful setting among woods, lakes, and hills. With 29 campsites equipped with electric and water hookups, the facility can accommodate up to eight campers per site and features slideout-compatible sites. The recreation opportunities are abundant. Upper Caney Lake spans 125 acres and offers excellent fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, and sandbass. The lake is popular for swimming, boating, and water skiing. The Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail, named for the crop once cultivated in the area, passes right next to the campground and spans 5.7 miles, while the Lost Man Loop covers 2 miles. Both trails are open to hiking and mountain biking. The campground provides flush toilets, drinking water from faucets, a sanitary dump station, and trash disposal. A camp host is on-site. There is also a group picnic area near Lower Caney Lake that accommodates up to 200 guests. The city of Minden is nearby for restaurants, shopping, and golfing.

Directions

From Minden, take Louisiana 159 north to Webster Parish Road 111 (Caney Lake Road). Turn left on Webster Parish Road 111 and continue 2 miles to the recreation area entrance. The fee station is just inside the gate.
