About

Ute Lake State Park sits on one of New Mexico's longest reservoirs, stretching nearly 13 miles along the Canadian River in northeastern New Mexico near Logan. The park offers a wide variety of camping experiences across multiple campgrounds. Yucca Campground is designed for RVs with 45 sites featuring electric hookups (both 30 and 50 amp) and water. Additional campgrounds include Zia with 24 electric sites, Logan Park with 23 electric sites, and Roadrunner with 20 non-electric sites. For those seeking more primitive experiences, the park offers New Cottonwood with 7 primitive sites, plus several smaller campgrounds like Eagle Point, Old Cottonwood, Ute Creek Overlook, Oldham Overlook, Oldham Circle, and Beaver Cove. The park excels as a water recreation destination with comprehensive boating facilities including boat ramps, courtesy docks, and a marina that operates seasonally. The reservoir is popular for motorized boating, personal watercraft, sailing, water skiing, canoeing, and kayaking. Anglers will find excellent fishing opportunities, while landlubbers can enjoy the hiking and mountain biking trails, wildlife viewing, and birding. The park includes a visitor center with exhibits, playgrounds, group picnic shelters, and both developed and primitive camping areas. RV campers will appreciate the long, level pull-through sites at several campgrounds, with equipment lengths up to 64 feet accommodated.
