About

Codorniz Recreation Area Campground is an Army Corps of Engineers facility on Eastman Lake, tucked into the oak-studded rolling hills of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The 65-site campground accommodates everything from tent camping to large RVs, with many sites offering 30-amp electric and water hookups. Pull-through sites stretch up to 100 feet, making it feasible for two RV families to share a single site. The campground features three restroom buildings with flush toilets and showers, a dump station, and fish cleaning stations near the boat ramps. Recreational amenities include a disc golf course, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a playground (currently closed for remodeling). Each site includes a fire ring with grill and picnic table. Eastman Lake covers 1,780 surface acres and holds the distinction of being California's first designated Trophy Bass Fishery. The surrounding habitat supports diverse wildlife including bobcats, golden eagles, mountain lions, hawks, and wood ducks. The Sierra National Forest lies a short drive to the east.
