About

Millerton Lake North Shore Group Campground provides dedicated group camping facilities on the Madera County side of the lake, ideal for family reunions, scout troops, or large gatherings. The campground offers two distinct sites: a large group site accommodating up to 75 people with 25 vehicles, and a smaller site for up to 40 people with 15 vehicles. Both sites feature on-site pit toilets with access to shared flush toilets and coin-operated showers between the two group areas. The campground sits within Millerton Lake State Recreation Area, a popular destination for boating, fishing, and water sports on the 4,900-acre reservoir formed by Friant Dam on the San Joaquin River. The North Shore area includes hiking and multi-use trails, a boat launch facility, and horse camp. Group campers have access to fire rings for campfires, a free dump station, and potable water refill station at the campground entrance. Reservations are handled through ReserveCalifornia.com or by phone. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and checkout is at noon. During off-season months (October through March), walk-ins may check with the camp host for availability. Summer season visitors will find a park aide at the kiosk to assist with reservations.
