About

Cimarron Canyon State Park sits at 7,876 feet elevation within the Colin Neblett State Wildlife Area, providing a scenic mountain camping experience along the Cimarron River. The park's three developed campgrounds offer roughly 73 sites for tents and RVs up to 34 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Modern restrooms with flush toilets and potable water are available at each campground, supplemented by vault toilets throughout the park. The park is renowned for its trout fishing in the Cimarron River and tributaries Clear Creek and Tolby Creek, which are stocked with rainbow and brown trout. Hiking and equestrian trails wind through the canyon, and the park's position within the wildlife management area makes it exceptional for wildlife viewing. The canyon's dramatic palisades and rock formations add visual interest to the camping experience. Camping is non-electric and primitive-style at all sites. Grey water dumps are available at each campground, but campers must carry water to them. No dump station for RV black water is available on-site. Water systems at Maverick and Tolby campgrounds are typically closed from October 1 through May 1 each year.
