Open — Open year-round. Vehicle permits and camping permits are required and available online via ReserveAmerica, at the park office, or at self-pay stations. Park office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with extended summer hours.

About

Cedar Bluff State Park is divided into two distinct areas along the 6,000-acre Cedar Bluff Reservoir in west-central Kansas. The Bluffton Area on the north shore spans nearly 350 acres and is the most developed section, featuring 96 utility campsites with water and electric hookups, two large shower houses, dump stations, and various amenities including sand volleyball, horseshoes, basketball courts, a BMX track, and a swimming beach. The area also includes five modern rental cabins, two community shelters, a covered handicap-accessible fishing dock, and two boat ramp facilities. The Page Creek Area on the south shore covers nearly 500 acres and offers a more primitive experience while still providing 37 utility campsites, two shower houses, two vault toilets, dump stations, and two boat ramp facilities. This area is renowned for its excellent primitive camping with large shade trees and sandy shorelines, making it popular with boaters and those seeking solitude. Both areas provide extensive undesignated primitive camping opportunities and access to excellent fishing along the reservoir shoreline. The park serves as a gateway to Threshing Machine Canyon, a historic site along the Butterfield's Overland Despatch trail where 19th-century travelers carved their names into limestone bluffs. The area offers year-round recreation including fishing, boating, jet skiing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The park is located 13 miles south of I-70 at exit 135 on Highway 147.

From I-70, take exit 135 and travel 13 miles south on Highway 147. Use the entrance on Highway 147 (N 38° 48.741, W 99° 43.610). Note: GPS mapping software sometimes routes to incorrect locations.
