About

Bullseye Lake Campground is a free, primitive camping area located in the Doublehead Ranger District of Modoc National Forest, near the scenic Medicine Lake Recreation Area. The campground sits in a high-elevation volcanic landscape and offers peaceful, shaded sites ideal for escaping summer heat. This is a first-come, first-served campground with no reservations. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, and the campground has one pit toilet. There is no potable water available, so campers must bring their own supply. Trash service is not provided; all garbage must be packed out. Pets are welcome but must be kept on leash while in the campground. The area provides access to the unique volcanic features of the Medicine Lake Highlands, including lava flows and crater lakes. The 14-day camping limit allows for extended stays to explore this remote corner of northeastern California.
