About
Browns Park Campground sits at 8,440 feet elevation in a remote section of Roosevelt National Forest, about one mile west of Stub Creek Ranger Station along County Road 99. The campground is adjacent to Jinks Creek and provides access to fishing, hiking, hunting, four-wheel driving, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Each campsite includes a tent pad, fire grate, and picnic table. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water on site. Campers must bring all drinking water and should be prepared for primitive conditions. The campground was once nestled in a mature lodgepole pine forest, but mountain pine beetle activity has caused significant tree mortality and subsequent hazard tree removal. All sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. Maximum occupancy is eight people per site. RVs, trailers, and other vehicles must fit on parking spurs ranging from 20 to 60 feet; off-road driving and parking are prohibited. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a hand-held leash.
Directions
Drive 10 miles north of Fort Collins on U.S. Highway 287. Turn left (west) onto Colorado Highway 14 and drive approximately 50 miles. Turn right (north) onto County Road 103 (Laramie River Road) and go approximately 15 miles. At the T-intersection, turn left (west) onto County Road 80C and travel two miles to the campground entrance.
