Boundary Creek Campground

About
Boundary Creek Campground is located at the gateway to the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, directly adjacent to the boat launch for the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. At an elevation of 6,280 feet, the campground is nestled among lodgepole pines near one of the original eight rivers designated as Wild and Scenic in 1968. The site primarily serves rafters and kayakers staging overnight before launching their wilderness float trips. The campground offers 15 sites, each with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets are provided, and drinking water is available from a hand pump. This is a pack-it-out facility with no trash service. During peak season (June 15 through August 15), five sites are reservable through Recreation.gov while the remaining ten are first-come, first-served. Outside peak season, all 15 sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Access requires traveling approximately 26 miles of rough, narrow, single-lane dirt road from Highway 21. The road is typically impassable due to snowdrifts until late May or early June, and water systems are shut off in the fall. A nearby transfer camp provides long-term parking and trail access into the wilderness for hikers and horseback riders.
