About

Bonney Meadows Campground sits on a high ridge adjacent to beautiful meadows in the Barlow Ranger District of Mount Hood National Forest. This small, quiet campground is popular with equestrians due to its horse corrals and proximity to single-track trails through the meadows. Hikers and mountain bikers also use the campground as a base for exploring Bonney Meadows Trail #471. The campground is primitive with vault toilets but no potable water. Campers must bring their own water supply and pay the $10 nightly fee with cash or check. A 50% discount applies to holders of Interagency Senior or Access passes for their occupied site only. Access requires navigating Forest Road 4891, an unimproved road that may require high-clearance or four-wheel drive. Vehicles are limited to 16 feet maximum length due to road and site conditions.

Directions

From Hood River: Follow Highway 35 South for 34 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road 48 and continue for 6.8 miles. Turn left onto FR 4890 for 3.6 miles. At the 4-way intersection, continue north onto FR 4891 (unimproved, high clearance/4WD recommended) for 4 miles. The campground entrance is on the right.
