About

Bobbie Thomson Campground is located at 8,800 feet elevation along Douglas Creek in the Medicine Bow National Forest near Fox Park, Wyoming. The campground features 16 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Two sites offer pull-through access for RVs, making it accessible for larger units. Sites cost $10 per night for a single unit. The campground operates seasonally as snow levels permit, typically closing in fall and reopening in late spring or early summer depending on conditions. At this high elevation, snow can persist well into spring and return early in fall. The remote location offers a quieter camping experience with moderate usage levels. Access requires driving Forest Route 542 from Albany, following forest roads through the Medicine Bow National Forest. The campground entrance involves crossing a single-lane bridge. The primitive setting along Douglas Creek provides a backcountry feel while still offering developed campsites.
