Queen Wilhelmina State Park Campground

Perched near the summit of Rich Mountain at 2,681 feet, Queen Wilhelmina State Park Campground occupies one of Arkansas's most scenic locations along the Talimena National Scenic Byway. The campground offers 41 sites: eight Class A sites with water and 50-amp electric service, 27 Class B sites with water and 30-amp electric, five Class C tent sites with water, and one primitive hike-in tent site. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground features a modern bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, operational from March 1 through November 30. A dump station is located at the campground entrance. During winter months (December through February), water at individual campsites is shut off, though a fill-up spigot at the bathhouse remains available. The historic Queen Wilhelmina Lodge adjacent to the campground provides dining at Queen's Restaurant, a gift shop, and seasonal amenities including a swimming pool, miniature golf, and scenic train rides. Multiple hiking and mountain biking trails traverse the park, offering sweeping views of the Ouachita Mountains. The park's elevation creates notably cooler temperatures than surrounding lowlands, making it a popular summer retreat.

Directions

Located at 3877 Highway 88 West, approximately 13 miles northwest of Mena, Arkansas. From Mena, take Highway 88 West (Talimena National Scenic Byway) to the park entrance at the summit of Rich Mountain.
