About
The Apex Pavilion at Goethe State Forest is a covered pavilion rental facility located at the Apex Trailhead, adjacent to the state forest office on CR 337. This day-use area is positioned in an open sandhill environment that overlooks the surrounding pine flatwoods forest. The pavilion serves as a gathering point for families and groups looking to experience the outdoors while having access to basic amenities. The facility is equipped with two grills, picnic tables, restrooms, and plenty of parking. A series of multi-use looped trails lead out from the trailhead location, providing opportunities for hiking, biking, and equestrian activities. The site is easily accessible and provides a convenient base for exploring the forest's extensive trail system. While this is a pavilion rental rather than a camping facility, primitive camping is available elsewhere in Goethe State Forest with appropriate permits. The pavilion is ideal for day gatherings, picnics, and organized events. Leashed pets are welcome at the facility.
