Alice Creek Dispersed Site is located along Forest Road 293 in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, approximately 9 miles east of Lincoln, Montana, then 8 miles north on Alice Creek Road. This primitive dispersed camping area sits near the Alice Creek Trailhead, which provides access to the historic Lewis and Clark Pass and the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. The area offers a remote camping experience in the backcountry with no developed facilities. As a dispersed camping area, there are no amenities such as toilets, picnic tables, trash service, treated water, or fire grates. Campers must follow Leave No Trace principles and pack out all garbage. The Forest Service requires dispersed campers to stay at least 200 feet from developed roads, trails, or facilities, and at least 100 feet from water sources when possible. All human waste must be buried 6-8 inches deep and at least 100 feet from water. The area is subject to seasonal road closures due to snow and may be inaccessible during winter months. Food and wildlife attractant storage orders are in effect for the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem. Campers must be aware of current fire restrictions and camping regulations before arrival.

Directions

From Lincoln, Montana, drive approximately 9 miles east on Highway 200. Turn north onto Alice Creek Road (Forest Road 293) and travel about 8 miles. Dispersed camping is allowed along the road following Forest Service regulations.
