About

Field Tract Campground is a forested riverside campground located 10 miles north of the village of Pecos on Highway 63 in Santa Fe National Forest. Situated on the banks of the Pecos River with the Sangre de Cristo Mountains rising above, the campground offers excellent fishing access and serves as a gateway to the Pecos Wilderness. The campground features 15 sites suitable for tents and small RVs up to 22 feet. Six of these sites include three-sided shelters. All sites are non-electric and come with picnic tables and grills. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided. Bears frequent the area, so proper food storage is required. Recreation opportunities include fishing on the Pecos River, hiking on nearby wilderness trails, and wildlife viewing. Bald eagles migrate through the canyon during winter months. No ATVs, horses, or horse trailers are permitted. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM.
