The combination of drying fuels, very low relative humidity values, and increasing southwest winds, will result in elevated fire danger conditions across northern lower Michigan today. Southwest winds will gust to 15 to 25 mph this afternoon and evening, highest west of I-75. Relative humidity values will drop to 20 to 30 percent in much of northern Michigan, with the lowest values east of I-75. These conditions support the quick start and spread of wildfires, so be sure to take the proper precautions to prevent fires from starting. Humidity values are expected to be higher on Friday.

Round Lake Campground sits on the eastern shore of 91-acre Round Lake within the Huron-Manistee National Forests in Iosco County, Michigan. As the only public access point to the lake, this campground offers a prime location for anglers targeting sunfish, bass, and pike, as well as families looking for a sandy swimming beach. A gravel boat ramp accommodates both motorized and non-motorized watercraft. The campground features 33 standard nonelectric sites arranged in two loops through a wooded setting. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets and garbage service provided. Potable drinking water is available from a hand pump, though only about a quarter of sites have direct water access. The rustic character makes this campground ideal for tent camping and smaller RVs. Nearby amenities in the village of Sand Lake include groceries and fuel. Lumberman's Monument Visitor Center is less than 15 miles away, offering interpretive programs about the region's logging history. Additional recreation opportunities include hiking trails and the Sand Lake Picnic and Swimming Area on nearby 248-acre Sand Lake.

From Tawas City, travel northwest on Plank Road/Indian Lake Road for 7 miles. Turn right and travel west on Latham Road for 0.5 miles to the campground.
