About
Horseshoe Lake Campground offers a peaceful retreat in the Huron National Forest of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The small 16-acre lake serves as the centerpiece of this 9-site campground, providing fishing opportunities and allowing both motorized and non-motorized boats. The campground is intentionally small and sees light use, making it ideal for campers seeking solitude away from busier recreation areas. A one-mile trail winds around the north end of the lake, offering opportunities for wildlife sightings and scenic views of the water and campground. Basic amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $10 per night, with Interagency Senior and Access Pass holders receiving a 50% discount on the site they occupy.
Directions
From Harrisville, travel west on M-72 for 22 miles. Turn left (south) on M-65 for 3 miles. Turn right (east) on FR 4124 for 1 mile to the campground.
