Stub Creek Cabin is located in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland, and features two bedrooms, indoor plumbing and electricity. Visitors to the area can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The cabin is located 75 miles from Fort Collins and an hour from Walden, and provides firewood and garbage collection services.
Visitors to the area enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, horseback riding and backpacking along many trails within the surrounding forest. Off-highway vehicles (OHV) are permitted on nearby designated roads. There are no OHV routes on site at the Stub Creek cabin site.
Hunting and fishing are also available in the area and visitors are responsible for knowing the various rules and regulations. Wildlife viewing is also popular.

The facility is surrounded by spruce, fir and lodgepole pine trees. Stub Creek passes through the area and is a short walk from the cabin.
