About
Little Lasier Meadows Campground is an equestrian-focused facility situated in a scenic meadow setting near Jackson Meadow Reservoir, approximately 32 miles north of Truckee in the Tahoe National Forest. The campground provides 11 sites specifically designed for campers with horses, featuring hitching racks at each site and a shared horse corral. At 6,511 feet elevation, the area is surrounded by lodgepole pine and fir trees with views of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain. The location serves as an excellent base camp for horseback riding with direct trail access to the Pacific Crest Trail via a half-mile connector trail. Jackson Meadow Reservoir nearby offers opportunities for fishing rainbow and brown trout, swimming at the designated beach, and non-motorized boating. The surrounding area is also popular for hunting, hiking, and mountain biking. Bear-resistant food storage is required as bears frequent the area. Fire restrictions may be imposed during hot, dry conditions. The campground provides vault toilets and drinking water from a hand pump, but no hookups, showers, or cell service are available.
Directions
From I-80 take exit 188 to Highway 89 north toward Sierraville. In 14.5 miles turn left onto Forest Road 07 at Little Truckee Summit. Drive approximately 15 miles to Forest Road 70 and turn left. Cross the steel bridge and turn left, then continue one mile to the campground entrance on the left. GPS may be unreliable; follow posted signs.
