Columbine Campground is located in north central Colorado, just off the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway/Highway 119. It provides a great choice for outdoor recreation such as hiking, biking, fishing, off-roading and more. The campground has 46 sites on two loops, with amenities such as picnic tables, campfire rings and grills, toilets, water spigots and trash service. The nearby attractions include the historic mining town of Central City and the scenic Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
Highway 279 is gravel to the campground and the interior campground road is dirt.
Due to the mountain pine beetle infestation and removal of hazardous trees, there may be little to no shade available in the campground.
